Just an opinion possibly worth what it costs There is an advantage to owing -scratches don't bother me especially on our older equipment but it will cost you on a rental. We have rented construction equip BUT better be just moving dirt and GD carefully not clearing brush or burning brush piles. Definitely get all those terms nailed down ahead of time and in writing! Dealer said it was all scratched up and needed repainted so he got stuck with a re-paint bill on top of the rental fee. Heard of a story where a guy rented an excavator from a dealer, used it to tear some trees out and took it back. Be sure your quote includes any mandatory damage waiver or other insurance or other charges because that can change the situation pretty rapidly. I don't think much of anyone posts online because the prices can be dynamic and location specific.
